Best AI Search Tools for Ecommerce Agencies in 2026

AI search tools for agencies that serve online stores: product-level tracking in ChatGPT shopping carousels, sponsored placements, catalog tools, and which plan a store client actually needs.

An agency that serves online stores gets asked a different question than a B2B agency. The client doesn't want to know whether ChatGPT mentions the brand. They want to know whether their running shoe shows up in the shopping carousel when someone asks for the best trail shoe under a budget, who sits next to it, and whether a competitor is paying to sit above it. That is product-level tracking plus ad tracking, and most brand trackers do neither.

This ranking is built for that job. We looked for three capabilities in each tool's listing: product or SKU-level visibility inside AI shopping answers, sponsored placement tracking, and a way to connect the store's catalog or revenue. Prices and limits come from each tool's entry in our directory, and Promptwatch details from its llms.txt, read on 2026-10-21.

Product prompts behave differently

A brand prompt ("is Acme a good running brand") returns a paragraph. A product prompt ("best waterproof trail shoe for wide feet") can return a shopping carousel with product images, prices, and merchants. The unit you report on stops being the brand and becomes the SKU. A store can have strong brand visibility and still be missing from the carousels for its best-selling category.

There is a paid layer too. ChatGPT shows ads on its Free and Go plans in 2026, according to OpenAI's help center, and OpenAI's own Ads Manager only reports on an advertiser's own campaigns. So if a client asks who is buying ads against their category prompts, the answer has to come from somewhere else.

1. Promptwatch

Promptwatch covers both layers, but on different plans, and an ecommerce agency needs to understand the split before quoting.

Ads Radar is on every agency plan. It captures the sponsored ads shown inside ChatGPT Search, Google AI Overviews, and Google AI Mode answers to your tracked prompts: the title, description, image or price, the advertiser's name and domain, the target URL, and the prompt that triggered it. You can view it by ad or by prompt. It doesn't cover Perplexity, and it doesn't report on a client's own OpenAI campaigns.

Shopping Insights is not on agency plans. Product visibility in ChatGPT shopping carousels and Amazon Alexa product results, with an uploaded catalog to track the client's own products, starts on the Business brand plan at $579 a month. Business also includes 5 projects, 5 seats, 350 prompts, 42,000 responses, city-level tracking, Ads Radar, and the automated Content Agent.

So the plan choice looks like this:

Client needPlanPrice
Category and brand prompts, competitor ads, crawler logs, AI-referred trafficAgency Kick-off / Growth / Scale$199 / $399 / $799 per month
Carousel position for the store's own productsBusiness (brand plan)$579 per month

For most store clients, the agency plan does the bulk of the work: which category prompts the store wins, which competitors buy sponsored placements against them, whether OAI-SearchBot and ChatGPT-User reach the product pages, and how much AI-referred traffic converts. For a store whose revenue depends on winning carousels, the honest answer is that the client needs its own Business plan. Price it into the retainer or have the client pay it directly. Business includes five projects, so confirm with Promptwatch how projects can be used across clients before you plan on sharing one.

The rest of the stack is what lets you explain a lost carousel. Crawler logs (Agent Analytics) show whether OpenAI's crawlers fetched the product page or hit an error. The Cloudflare integration has guided setup for Shopify stores behind Cloudflare. Visitor analytics, installed with a script or GTM template, tracks AI-referred visits and conversions. Citation analytics shows which marketplace, review site, or Reddit thread the answer leaned on instead.

2. AthenaHQ

AthenaHQ lists GA4, Shopify, and Webflow revenue attribution, which gives a store client money language in the monthly call. The Action Center turns findings into tasks like schema generation and content reformatting. Starter is $295 a month ($245 annual) with unlimited seats and credit-based usage.

Our listing doesn't document carousel or product-level tracking, or sponsored ad tracking. Starter is single country, and usage credits make a multi-store roster hard to budget.

3. Wildcard

Wildcard is built for retailers. It syncs the catalog from Shopify (GraphQL), BigCommerce, Salesforce, or a PIM, ranks per SKU and per collection, and stores the competitor products and cited sources behind each answer. Engine coverage includes ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Claude, plus Walmart Sparky and Alexa+ Shopping, with Amazon Rufus in beta. Revenue attribution runs through AI referral sessions, add-to-carts, checkouts, and revenue by platform.

Basic is $99 a month for 1 workspace, 50 prompts, 20 products, 10 actions, and weekly refresh. For an agency that means one Basic plan per store, and 20 products is a sample, not a catalog. Product add-ons run $0.50 down to $0.30 each. API and data export are Enterprise only, which matters if you build client reports outside the tool.

4. Ranketta

Ranketta is the one specialist here with a published agency price ladder. Agency Tracker is €149 a month with unlimited client seats, 3 sites, and 100 prompts per model on 2 models. Agency Starter (€299) adds Agent Mode, white-label reports, 10 sites, and 300 prompts per model. Agency Growth (€599) goes to 25 sites, 500 prompts per model, and API access.

Its core is product-level visibility in AI shopping answers and catalog enrichment of titles, descriptions, and attributes with a confidence score. Named connectors include Shopify, Shoptet, Adobe Commerce, Wix, BigCommerce, Amazon, and Walmart. Enrichment is listed on the store plans, but the agency cards in our listing don't mention it, so confirm before selling it. Claude, Copilot, Grok, and Alexa are premium add-ons.

5. Trackbase

Trackbase offers ChatGPT Shopping tracking of product positions, displayed prices, and tags with change alerts, as a paid add-on on Professional (199 EUR a month). Professional covers all 11 models but only 20 prompts. Crawler analytics runs through a Cloudflare Worker, Cloudflare Logpush, or a WordPress plugin, and data is hosted in the EU.

For agencies, multiple brands, workspaces for clients, and white-label sit on the custom Enterprise / Agency tier, where ChatGPT Shopping is available on request.

6. LLM Pulse

LLM Pulse lists ChatGPT Shopping and AI ads tracking next to sentiment, citations, and AI traffic analytics, with unlimited seats on every plan. Starter is €49 a month annual for 1 project and 50 prompts on five engines. The default cadence is weekly, which is slow for a store running promotions, and Claude is an Enterprise add-on.

7. GEO Metrics

GEO Metrics adds AI Shopping, Ads, and Maps tracking from its Pro plan at €245 a month (€220 yearly), with 100 prompts, 10 users, and API access. Every plan has unlimited projects, countries, and languages, though the prompt quota is shared across them. It also lists answer-accuracy monitoring with hallucination alerts, useful when an answer gets a product detail wrong.

8. GetMint

GetMint tracks ChatGPT Shopping and Alexa for Shopping alongside its chat engines, and pairs that with a GEO agent and a small content allowance. Starter is €74 a month billed yearly with 2 AI models and one country. Growth is €299 yearly with 3 models, 3 countries, and unlimited users. Agency pricing is custom.

Which one to pick

If the client lives on Shopify and wants the catalog fixed as well as measured, Wildcard and Ranketta are the specialists, and Ranketta's agency ladder is easier to scale across stores. GEO Metrics and LLM Pulse are the low-cost way to see shopping and ad results at once. AthenaHQ fits when the retainer is execution and revenue attribution is the headline.

The recommendation

Run the roster on a Promptwatch agency plan and the competitor ad picture comes with it. Ads Radar shows who bids on each category prompt and where their ads land, which is the conversation most store clients want first. When one store's revenue depends on winning carousels, put that client on Business so Shopping Insights tracks its own products from the uploaded catalog. Crawler logs and AI-referred conversions then explain whether a lost position is a feed, crawl, or content problem. Start a Kick-off trial at Promptwatch, or read the full Promptwatch review.
