Best AI Search Tools for Agencies in 2026

AI search tools for agencies ranked by what the bill looks like at client fifteen: billing units, per-client capacity, and whether the data explains a drop.

Most AI search tools are priced for one brand. That is fine until an agency signs its fifteenth client and discovers the tracker bills per domain, per engine, per seat, or in credits that reset every month. The demo looked cheap. The invoice does not.

This ranking is built around that moment. For each tool we looked at the unit it bills in, what one client costs once the roster grows, and whether the data can explain a drop to a client who is paying for answers. Prices and limits come from each tool's entry in our directory. Promptwatch details come from its llms.txt, read on 2026-10-21. Where a vendor does not publish a number, we say so instead of estimating one.

How we ranked

Three questions decided the order. Does adding a client cost a new subscription, or does it draw down a shared pool? Can one account hold every client with separate prompts, competitors, and markets? And when a client falls out of a ChatGPT answer, does the tool show you why, or only that it happened? Tools that answer the third question with crawler logs, citation sources, and referral traffic rank above tools that only count mentions.

1. Promptwatch

Promptwatch sells agency plans where the number of clients is not the thing you pay for. All three self-serve agency plans include unlimited projects, unlimited pitch projects, unlimited prompts, and 10 seats. What changes between them is volume:

PlanPriceResponsesAgent CreditsVisitor eventsCrawler logs
Kick-off (7-day trial)$199/mo10,0001,000500K10M
Growth (7-day trial)$399/mo25,0002,5002M25M
Scale (most popular)$799/mo65,0006,50015M100M

Run the math at fifteen clients on Growth and you pay $26.60 per client, with roughly 1,660 responses each per month. How far that stretches depends on how many prompts and engines each client runs, so load your three heaviest clients into the trial and watch the meter before you quote retainers. Annual billing is 12 months for the price of 10.

The pricing is only half the reason it ranks first. Every agency plan includes all AI models, state and city tracking, Ads Radar for sponsored placements, Agent Analytics crawler logs, visitor analytics, content gap analysis, a site audit, custom reports, the Data Studio connector, and MCP plus API access. That bundle is what lets an account manager explain a drop. Citation analytics shows which page or Reddit thread replaced the client in the answer. The crawler logs show whether ChatGPT's crawler fetched the client's page or hit an error. Visitor analytics shows whether AI-referred visits and conversions moved with it. Pitch projects let you run a prospect's prompts before the first sales call, and Promptwatch lists a white-label workspace, client portal, and white-label PDF exports for agencies.

The limits are plain. Explore, the free plan, covers ChatGPT only with 10 prompts. Scale tops out at 65,000 responses, and past that you are on custom Enterprise pricing.

2. AthenaHQ

AthenaHQ suits an agency that sells execution. Its Action Center turns visibility findings into assignable tasks, and GA4, Shopify, and Webflow revenue attribution gives you money language for the monthly call. Starter is $295 a month ($245 annual) with API access and unlimited seats.

The bill is harder to forecast. Usage is credit based, so what a roster costs depends on how many prompts and engines run each day, and that is hard to model before the first month closes. Starter is single country, and multi-region tracking sits on Enterprise, which matters the moment one client operates in two markets. The listing documents no AI crawler-log product, so the "why did we drop" conversation stops at the answer itself.

3. Scrunch AI

Scrunch AI has a lever nobody else on this list has: it serves AI-optimized versions of a client's pages to LLM crawlers without changing the human site. Starter is $250 a month annual ($300 monthly) with 3 seats, 350 custom and 1,000 industry prompts, and extra seats at $25 a month.

For agency budgeting, two details matter. Prompt credits are consumed per engine, so tracking every engine shrinks the allowance quickly. And data refreshes weekly, which makes it awkward when a client asks what changed since Tuesday. Our listing flags reporting as its weak spot, so plan to build client charts yourself.

4. Wellows

Wellows dropped per-domain pricing for one monthly balance of AI answers, and that changes its agency math completely. Every plan has unlimited projects, prompts and seats, all five engines it tracks (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode), and white-label client dashboards. Growth is $249 a month for 18,000 answers and Scale is $497 for 36,000. One answer is one prompt on one engine on one day.

At fifteen clients on Growth you pay $16.60 per client for about 1,200 answers each a month. That is 8 prompts a day on all five engines, or 20 prompts a day on two. Scale doubles it. Weekly cadence costs about a seventh of daily, so steady clients can run weekly while a launch runs daily. When the balance runs out, collection pauses until the billing date instead of billing overage, and unused answers do not roll over.

What the money buys is a citation workflow: explicit and implicit citations, sentiment read from the cited pages, outreach targets with contacts, and KIVA drafts. What it doesn't buy is the layer that explains a drop below the citation. Wellows doesn't track Claude or Copilot, publishes no AI crawler logs, and doesn't tie AI-referred visits to conversions.

5. DemandSphere

DemandSphere gives agencies something rare at the entry price: unlimited users and unlimited domains, daily refresh, and API access on every plan. Engines cover ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, and AI Overviews, next to classic SERP tracking.

The catch is one shared budget. Starter ($79 a month annual, $95 monthly) gives a daily budget of 1,000 keywords or 100 prompts, and one prompt costs ten keywords. Pro ($208 annual, $250 monthly) raises that to 250 prompts. Spread Pro across fifteen clients and each gets about 16 prompts, with nothing left for rank tracking. AI crawler log analytics is an Enterprise add-on with per-GB storage fees.

6. Keyword.com AI Visibility

Keyword.com AI Visibility is the cheapest way to put a small AI panel next to existing Google rank tracking, with unlimited users and projects plus API and MCP access on every plan. Chat-app engines cost 0.25 credit per run.

That makes the roster math easy to check. The 20-credit entry plan covers about five prompts on four chat engines at a weekly refresh. The largest published package, 2,000 credits at $180 a month, covers about 500 prompts on the same basis, or around 33 per client across fifteen. Credits do not roll over, and engines like Claude and Grok bill at the API rate of 1 credit per run. White-label reports are a separate $29 a month.

7. SEOmonitor

SEOmonitor fits agencies that already report on keyword sets and search volumes and want AI answers measured against the same list. Daily AI Overview detection with citation rank is on all accounts. The AI Search add-on for ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude is Pro only, at €19 per 1,000 credits a month.

It runs on a site's full keyword list, so you cannot track a handpicked set of prompts. A client with 1,000 keywords costs at least €19 a month in credits, Claude costs five credits per keyword, and LLM data updates weekly. Base plan prices were not verified in our listing.

8. Advanced Web Ranking

Advanced Web Ranking has unlimited users and projects and deep location splits, which agencies with multi-market clients like. Billing runs on keyword units. Its own documentation puts 15 topics across four LLMs on a weekly schedule at 12,000 units a month. The Agency plan is $279 a month for 14,500 units a week, so fifteen clients at that depth would need about three times its capacity before any classic rank tracking. AI tracking is monitoring only.

9. Profound

Profound sells marketing agents for AEO, content, demand, and PR more than a dedicated AI search tracker. Starter is $99 a month billed yearly for ChatGPT only, 50 prompts, and one seat. Growth is $399 a month yearly for three engines, 100 prompts, and three seats. The wide engine list and full Prompt Volumes data are Enterprise, with contracts starting around $40k a year. That shape fits a single large brand better than a roster.

10. Otterly.AI

Otterly.AI is quick to set up and has unlimited seats. Standard is $189 a month for 100 prompts with an API and Looker Studio export, and Premium is $489 for 400 prompts. Gemini, Claude, and AI Mode are paid add-ons from $9 to $149 a month, monitoring data can be up to seven days old, and there is no traffic attribution. It stays last.

Keyword.comMonthly credits$180/mo for 2,000 credits, about 33 weekly prompts per client

AthenaHQ, Scrunch AI, SEOmonitor, and Profound are left out of the table because their credit costs or base prices do not reduce to a per-client figure from what is published.

Which one to pick

If the roster is growing and you need to explain drops, not just report them, start with Promptwatch on Kick-off or Growth. AthenaHQ is the pick when the retainer is a task list a strategist works daily, as long as you track credit burn. Scrunch AI earns a place for content-heavy clients where serving crawler-optimized pages is the deliverable. DemandSphere and SEOmonitor suit SEO agencies that want AI data next to keyword tracking and accept small prompt budgets per client. Keyword.com is the low-cost panel. Wellows is one of the cheapest shared pools per client when a citation and outreach workflow is the deliverable, as long as no client needs Claude, Copilot or conversion data.

The recommendation

Promptwatch is not the cheapest line in the cost table. Keyword.com, Wellows and DemandSphere cost less per client, and for an agency that only needs a small AI panel or a citation outreach list, they are reasonable buys. The difference shows up when a client drops out of an answer and asks why. On Promptwatch the crawler logs, citation sources, and AI-referred conversions are in the same project as the prompt data, so your team can answer in the report instead of on a follow-up call. That is usually what keeps a client past the first quarter. Run your heaviest clients through a Growth trial at Promptwatch, or read the full Promptwatch review.
