Rankability review 2026: plans, AI tracker, content and where it stops

Rankability is now an agency AI SEO workspace with content, audits, Google and local rank tracking and daily AI answer tracking on 11 platforms. What each plan includes, what it does well, and what it doesn't publish.

Rankability is not the product most older reviews describe. It started in 2024 as a content optimizer, built by SEO educator Nathan Gotch (CEO) and Simon L. Smith (CTO) at Rankability, Inc. in St. Louis, Missouri. Today it sells itself as AI SEO software for agencies. The homepage promises to "get your clients 10x more visibility in AI search", which is a headline, not a measured result.

We read rankability.com, its pricing page, its llms.txt and the product pages on 28 October 2026. Every Rankability fact below comes from that read. Promptwatch details come from its llms.txt, checked the same day.

What it is now

Each client gets a workspace that holds brand knowledge, research, content projects, audits, backlink monitoring, Google and Local Pack rank tracking and an AI answer tracker. An assistant called Serena reads the client's approved sources and workspace data, suggests what to do next and starts supported workflows once someone approves. API and MCP access are on every plan. So are unlimited client workspaces and team members.

Plans and allowances

Pricing read 28 October 2026, in USD, billed monthly:

Monthly allowanceStarter $97Agency $297Agency Pro $497
Content projects2080160
Tracked AI queries, checked daily100300500
Google keywords, weekly, top 3050150250
Local Pack scans103050
Page audits / site audits20 / 280 / 10160 / 25

Annual billing costs ten monthly payments. Paid plans open with a 7-day trial that needs a card and limits usage. Every allowance is shared across all clients on the account and resets monthly with no rollover. We work through the arithmetic in our Rankability pricing breakdown.

The tracker

A tracked query is one saved question, run daily on the platforms you pick from a list of 11: ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Grok, Microsoft Copilot, Brave AI, DeepSeek and Meta AI. All 11 are on every plan, including Starter. Results show mentions, the pages cited as sources and sentiment, with competitor comparisons alongside.

You can schedule recurring checks or take a one-time snapshot. There's an AI-only view and an all-channel view that puts AI answers next to Google rankings. Clients get a read-only portal or a revocable share link that opens without sign-in.

Content and Automate

Content is still the strongest part. A content project is one new page or one refresh, covering research, brief, outline, AI-assisted draft, optimization guidance and export, with two AI revisions. Formats include articles, comparisons, reviews, roundups and commercial or service pages. Optimize pulls a page that's already live back into a project for revision.

The reviews Rankability curates on its own site mostly praise the content optimizer. Danny C. wrote on Capterra in October 2025: "It is easier to use than other solutions like Surfer SEO, and it provides better results than Semrush's content optimizer."

Automate queues approved Research topics (or manual fallback topics) on a daily, weekly or monthly cadence and delivers drafts to Projects, WordPress, Webflow or GitHub. On GitHub it opens a pull request for review instead of merging. Knowledge monitoring watches approved source pages and holds any resulting updates for review. Asked whether it publishes on its own, the Create FAQ answers: "Not by default."

Audits

Site audits crawl up to 1,000 pages each and check crawler access, indexability, canonicals, internal links and page structure. Page audits and Google Business Profile and brand-consistency audits sit alongside. Local Pack scans measure one keyword in one location on a grid of up to 5x5; a 7x7 grid costs two scans and 9x9 costs four.

Where it stops

The auditor page is candid about its limits: "AI crawler access checks use robots.txt evidence. They help identify access restrictions; they do not prove that a platform has cited the page." You learn whether GPTBot is allowed in. You don't learn whether it came.

Server-side crawler logs are not on the plan pages. Neither is a visitor script of its own that ties AI-referred sessions to conversions; reports pull in connected Search Console and Analytics data instead. Prompt search volumes, query fan-outs, ChatGPT Shopping tracking and AI ad tracking aren't published either. And the 100 to 500 tracked queries are one pool for every client.

Who should buy it

Agencies that bill for pages, refreshes and rankings, and want AI answers in the same monthly report. The per-client workspaces and unlimited seats suit that model well. Annual Agency Pro adds the Gotch Inner Circle, weekly Tuesday group coaching with recordings.

Verdict

Rankability is a capable, clearly priced agency workspace, and 11 AI platforms on a $97 plan is generous. It is thinner as evidence. If AI visibility is the thing you sell, Promptwatch is our pick. Its Agent Analytics logs IP-verified visits from GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot from the Professional plan ($245/mo) and on every agency plan. Visitor analytics connect those AI referrals to conversions, and Prompt Volumes with fan-outs tell you which questions deserve a tracking slot before you spend one. Essential ($95/mo) and Professional both come with a 7-day trial on monthly billing.
