Best AI Search Tools for Restaurants and Restaurant Groups in 2026
AI search tools ranked for single restaurants and multi-location groups on local tracking, listing accuracy, review and Reddit sources, and what each plan costs.
"Best ramen in [city]." "Restaurant for a birthday dinner near [neighborhood]." "Vegan-friendly brunch open Sunday." These are short prompts with a decision attached. Someone wants to eat tonight or book for Saturday, and the assistant gives them three places. Whoever is on that list gets the reservation.
The restaurant's own website is usually a small part of the answer. AI pulls from review platforms, map and listing data, food blogs, local guides, and Reddit threads where people argue about the best noodles in town. Some of those sources are things you can influence (your listings, your menu page, your hours) and some you can't. The "open Sunday" prompt is a good example of the first kind. If a directory still shows last year's hours, AI may confidently leave you out, or worse, send people to a closed door.
A single venue and a group need different tools. A neighborhood bistro needs to know whether it shows up for a handful of prompts within walking distance, at a price that makes sense for one location. A group with twelve sites in four cities needs per-location reporting, consistent listing data, and a way to see which branch wins where. We ranked with both in mind and say which is which.
How we ranked
Four things, scored only on what each catalog entry documents:
- Local precision: can you track prompts for a city, a location, or a grid around the venue?
- Listing accuracy: does the tool catch wrong hours or addresses in AI answers and point to the source?
- Sources: can you see which review sites, directories, and Reddit threads drove the answer?
- Price per location: what does it actually cost for one venue, and for a group?
1. Promptwatch
Promptwatch is the most complete tool here, and for a restaurant group it is the clearest pick. Citation analytics shows the pages and domains behind each answer, with a dedicated Reddit view and offsite mentions, so you can see whether a food blog's "best brunch" list or a Reddit thread is the reason a rival keeps getting named. Prompt trends show when a venue drops out of an answer and what changed between checks. Sentiment analysis tells you how you are described: "great for groups" or "slow service."
The plan question needs a straight answer. City and state tracking are on Business at $579 a month. That is a lot of money for one restaurant, and we would not tell a single venue to start there. For a group it is a different calculation: Business includes 5 projects, 350 prompts, visitor analytics that can count AI-referred reservation clicks as conversions, and the automated Content Agent for publishing location and menu pages to WordPress, Webflow, or Framer. An agency handling several restaurant clients can use the agency plans from $199, which include city tracking but not the Content Agent.
A single venue can start on Essential at $95 a month, with 50 prompts across all AI models and a site audit. It tracks at country level, so you can still write "[neighborhood]" into the prompt, but you can't set the city the question is asked from. Explore is free with 10 prompts on ChatGPT. If one venue needs grid-level local data, pair a cheaper local tool from this list with Essential.
2. BrightLocal Local AI Visibility
BrightLocal Local AI Visibility (from $41/mo, or $31/mo billed annually, for 1 location; 14-day trial) is the best value for a single venue. It anchors up to 20 prompts to the location, runs them on ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, and Google AI Overviews, and scores you from 0 to 100 against the local competitors AI actually recommends. An AI sources leaderboard shows which directories AI cites for your category, and gaps can go straight to BrightLocal's Citation Builder.
Three engines only, a hard cap of 20 prompts per location, and no export or white-label yet.
3. Local Falcon
Local Falcon (from $24.99/mo for 7,500 credits; 100 free credits, no card) runs the same prompt from every point on a grid around your venue, from 9 to 441 points, and maps where AI recommends you. "Restaurant for a birthday dinner near [neighborhood]" might name you three streets away and not six. Reports include Share of AI Voice, the phrases AI uses about you with sentiment, and the competitors it names instead.
Credits burn quickly on large grids and expire monthly. The pages behind its entry don't describe crawler logs or AI-referred conversions.
4. Birdeye Search AI
Birdeye Search AI suits a group more than a single venue. It reports visibility and share of voice per location on seven engines, and its Accuracy report checks whether answers get hours and addresses right and traces errors to the source. Managed listings are corrected automatically, which is exactly the "open Sunday" problem.
There is no published price. Usage multiplies by location, engine, and prompt, and the default scan is monthly.
5. Tibly
Tibly (from $49/mo) is a website builder with payments and an AI visibility layer, and its homepage pitches restaurants among other local businesses. Starter tracks 15 prompts on ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity, includes visitor analytics, and drafts pages from the questions it watches in your market.
It only makes sense if you're willing to host your site on Tibly. Claude is Enterprise only.
6. Passionfruit
Passionfruit (from $19/mo) has the lowest entry price for daily tracking. Lite runs 20 prompts a day on ChatGPT; Starter at $49 adds Gemini and Perplexity with 70 prompts. Page-level citation tracking shows which competitor pages get cited, and its Google Analytics connection reports sessions and revenue per AI channel.
The entry documents no city-level tracking, and content creation is an Enterprise service.
7. Surva.ai
Surva.ai (from $49/mo, $39/mo yearly; 7-day trial, no card) runs prompts on five engines, finds keywords where competitors are cited and you are not, and generates articles to close the gaps. A JavaScript snippet tracks AI-referred visitors on every plan.
Starter refreshes every three days, and crawler logs and CMS publishing start on Growth at $119. City-level tracking isn't documented.
8. Aibevolen
Aibevolen (from 30 EUR/mo; full management 199 EUR/mo) is a Dutch service aimed at local businesses, restaurants included. It measures weekly on ChatGPT and Perplexity, backs each finding with the source URL the AI used, and at the full-management tier its team handles schema, content, and external mentions for you.
Two engines, a portal rather than a platform, and built for the Dutch market. For a Dutch restaurant owner with no time, that is the point.
What to check before you pay
- Write prompts the way diners ask: cuisine plus area, occasion plus area, and one with a constraint like "open Sunday" or "gluten-free."
- Check what AI says your hours are. If it's wrong, find out which source it came from.
- Price the tool for your real number of locations, not the one-location headline.
- Look at the sources for a prompt you lose. Review platform, food blog, or Reddit thread, each needs a different fix.

Why Promptwatch comes first
Restaurants lose AI recommendations for reasons that sit outside their own site: a stale listing, a food blog that never mentioned them, a Reddit thread that crowned a rival. Promptwatch's citation analytics and Reddit view show which of those it is, prompt trends show when it changed, and visitor analytics confirms whether winning a prompt turns into reservations. A single venue can start on Essential at $95 and add a local grid tool. A group gets city tracking and the Content Agent on Business. Either way, put your top ten "best [dish] in [city]" prompts into Promptwatch and see who AI names instead of you.
