Wellows pricing explained (2026)
Wellows sells one monthly balance of AI answers, from 1,800 on Basic to 36,000 on Scale. The four plans, the math for three real setups, what happens when the balance runs out, and how the price compares.
Wellows changed how it charges in September 2026. The old ladder priced each plan per domain. The new one prices a single number: how many AI answers you can collect in a month. Prompts, projects and seats stop mattering for the bill. Only usage does.
That makes the plans easy to read and easy to misjudge. This page works through the plans, the arithmetic, and the billing rules that decide whether a plan is actually big enough.

The four plans
| Plan | Price | AI answers a month | Prompts daily, all 5 engines | Prompts daily, 1 engine |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $29/mo | 1,800 | 12 | 60 |
| Standard (most popular) | $97/mo | 6,500 | 43 | 216 |
| Growth | $249/mo | 18,000 | 120 | 600 |
| Scale | $497/mo | 36,000 | 240 | 1,200 |
| Custom | Quote | Above Scale | Sized to order | Sized to order |
Every plan includes unlimited prompts, projects and seats, all five engines (ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Gemini), every feature, white-label reporting and a 7-day free trial. There is no free plan. Wellows does run separate free tools, such as a Query Fan-Out Generator and a Prompt Audit, but those sit outside the platform.
The unit that sets your bill
One AI answer is one prompt, asked of one engine, on one day. So the monthly cost of a project is:
prompts × engines × runs per month
Engines and cadence are set per project. A daily project runs about 30 times a month. Weekly costs roughly a seventh of daily. That gives you two dials besides the prompt count, and they matter more than the plan name.
Worked math: three setups
1. One brand, 40 prompts, all five engines, daily. 40 × 5 = 200 answers a day. Over 30 days that is 6,000, and a 31-day month is 6,200. Standard (6,500) covers it with a few hundred spare. Basic would not: 1,800 ÷ 200 means the balance is empty on day 9, and the project sits idle for the rest of the month.
2. A five-client agency, 30 prompts per client, all five engines. Run every client daily and you need 5 × 30 × 5 = 750 answers a day, or 22,500 a month. Growth (18,000) runs dry around day 24. Scale (36,000) covers it with room for a sixth or seventh client. Move all five clients to weekly and the same set costs roughly a seventh, about 3,200 a month, which fits on Standard. A realistic middle ground is two clients daily and three weekly: 9,000 plus roughly 1,900, near 11,000 a month. That's a Growth account.
3. One brand, 100 prompts, all five engines, daily. 100 × 5 × 30 = 15,000 answers. Growth covers it with 3,000 spare. Cut to ChatGPT and AI Overviews only and the same 100 prompts cost 6,000, back down to Standard.
The pattern: for a given bill, engines and cadence change the cost far more than the plan does. Decide which engines your buyers actually use before you size the plan.
When the balance runs out
Collection pauses until your billing date. Wellows doesn't charge overage and doesn't delete data, but you lose those days of tracking, and a gap in the middle of a monthly client report is awkward to explain. Unused answers don't roll over either, so oversizing wastes money just as undersizing wastes data.
Upgrades apply immediately. Downgrades wait for the next cycle. If you're unsure, start one size up during the trial, watch a week of usage, and adjust.
What changed in September 2026
Before the repricing, Wellows sold per-domain plans named Lite, Essential, Starter and Pro. Those are retired. Older reviews and comparison pages that quote them are out of date. The practical change for agencies is large: under the old model each extra client domain moved you up a tier. Now a new project costs nothing until it runs prompts, and every client draws from one shared balance.
How it compares on what each price buys
Promptwatch is the obvious benchmark, because it sits in the same price bands and its plans are public. It prices differently: each plan sets prompts, responses, projects and seats, and bundles layers Wellows doesn't publish. Treat Promptwatch "responses" and Wellows "answers" as roughly comparable monitoring units, not identical ones.
| Price band | Wellows | Promptwatch |
|---|---|---|
| Free | No free plan | Explore: 10 prompts, ChatGPT only |
| Around $95 to $97 | Standard: 6,500 answers, unlimited projects and seats, 5 engines | Essential $95: 50 prompts, 6,000 responses, 1 project, 1 seat, 200K visitor events |
| Around $245 to $249 | Growth: 18,000 answers | Professional $245: 150 prompts, 18,000 responses, 2 projects, 2 seats, 25M crawler logs, 1M visitor events |
| Around $500 to $580 | Scale $497: 36,000 answers | Business $579: 350 prompts, 42,000 responses, 5 projects, 5 seats, 100M crawler logs, Content Agent |
| Agency entry | Any plan, white-label included | Kick-off $199: unlimited projects and prompts, 10,000 responses, 10 seats, 10M crawler logs |
Wellows' cheapest plan sits below every paid Promptwatch tier, and its unlimited projects and seats are a real saving for a small agency that only reports citations. At the $245 band the monitoring volume is about level. The difference is what comes with it.
Our read
On monitoring volume per dollar, Wellows is hard to beat. On what the money buys around that monitoring, Promptwatch gives more. Every paid plan covers Claude, Copilot, Grok, Llama, DeepSeek and Mistral as well as Wellows' five engines, with MCP and REST API access. Professional adds Agent Analytics crawler logs, so you can see whether ChatGPTBot or PerplexityBot ever reached the page you want cited. Visitor analytics tie AI-referred sessions to conversions, which matters given that Wellows' own FAQ says rising citations often don't show up as referral traffic. Business adds the Content Agent, which publishes approved drafts to Webflow, Framer or WordPress.
If the budget only covers a citation report, size a Wellows plan with the math above. If you need to justify AI search spend with crawler and conversion data, price Promptwatch first: Explore is free, and Essential and Professional come with a 7-day trial.
