Surva.ai vs Honeyb (2026): two cheap trackers with crawler logs, compared

Surva.ai starts at $49/mo and gates crawler logs to its $119 Growth plan. Honeyb starts lower and verifies bots by reverse DNS, but won't say which plan includes it. Data, limits, verdict.

The one-line difference: Surva.ai puts AI gaps next to organic rankings and sells crawler logs from its Growth plan, while Honeyb tracks up to eight engines daily and verifies AI bots from server logs, but does not publish which plan includes that module.

Both sit in the same bracket. Low monthly price, prompt tracking, an article writer and a crawler module. That last part is rare under $200 a month, which is why this pairing is worth a close read. We benchmark both against Promptwatch.

How Surva.ai works

Surva.ai comes from Social Intents, LLC, the live-chat company. It runs buyer prompts on five engines, stores full answers and scores AI visibility next to page-one organic rankings. A gap finder lists keywords where competitors get cited and you do not. Articles are generated from those gaps.

Plans: Starter is $49 a month ($39 yearly) for 30 prompts, 15 articles, 1 brand and 2 seats. Growth is $119 ($99 yearly) for 75 prompts, 30 articles with CMS publishing, crawler logs and 5 brands. Business is $349 ($299 yearly) for 250 prompts, 60 articles, API and Agency Mode with white-label dashboards. A managed service costs $399 a month with a 3-month minimum.

Crawler logs work two ways. Upload Nginx or Apache access logs (up to 50 MB, .gz accepted) or deploy a Cloudflare Worker. Bots are matched against a user-agent database refreshed hourly. Named bots include GPTBot, ChatGPT-User, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, GoogleOther, Cohere-ai and Meta-ExternalAgent. Reports show crawler, URL, status code and timestamp.

Two contradictions to settle before you buy. The homepage says prompts run every day, but the pricing FAQ says every 3 days on Starter and every other day on Growth, with daily on Business. And the product page says JavaScript cannot see AI crawlers, while the help docs call a tracking script the recommended option.

How Honeyb works

Honeyb is run by SIA Honeyb in Riga, Latvia. It tracks prompts daily, maps cited domains and Reddit threads, and ranks recommendations. A Content Agent researches and writes from your visibility gaps and publishes to six targets, more than either rival in this table.

Plans: The Minimum is $29 a month ($23 annual) for 10 prompts on 1 engine, 1 seat and 5 articles. Multi-Model is $79 a month ($63 annual) for 50 prompts, 3 engines, unlimited seats and 15 articles. Full Spectrum is $199 ($159 annual) for 100 prompts on all 8 engines and 30 articles. Enterprise adds white-label, SSO and API access on custom terms. Separately, an answer API sells at $0.03 per answer with no plan required.

Agent Analytics is the stronger crawler design on paper. You point an existing log stream at Honeyb, with no tag or DNS change. Each request is reverse-resolved to separate real crawlers from spoofed user agents. Named bots: GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended. Crawls are then matched to citations, with reports on crawl gaps and access errors.

The gaps are in the paperwork. The pricing page does not say which plans include Agent Analytics. Specific CDN integrations are not named. The trial is only 3 days. Honeyb also publishes many roundups that rank itself; treat them as vendor material.

Who should pick which

Pick Surva.ai if organic SEO and AI visibility are one budget line and you want both in a single gap view. Pick it if you need crawler logs at a known price ($119) and can feed it log files or a Cloudflare Worker.

Pick Honeyb if you want daily data on Grok and DeepSeek as well, or you publish on Ghost, Shopify or Wix. Pick it if bot verification matters more than a published plan sheet, and get the Agent Analytics plan confirmed in writing.

Skip both if your logs live in CloudFront, Fastly, Vercel, Netlify, Akamai or Google Cloud CDN and you do not want to build a forwarding pipeline.

The Promptwatch option

Both tools stop at a crawl count joined to a mention and a visit. Neither documents conversion tracking on AI referrals on the pages we read.

Promptwatch Professional costs $245 a month: 150 prompts, 18,000 responses, 25M crawler logs, 1M visitor events, 15 AEO articles and 2 seats. Agent Analytics logs ChatGPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, GoogleOther and the Meta AI crawler in real time, with a crawl-to-citation path and error tracking. Logs come from the eight named sources in the table above. Visitor analytics, installed by script or GTM template, ties AI-referred visits to conversions. Content Agents publish to Webflow, Framer and WordPress after a review inbox.

That costs more than either entry plan. It is $126 more than Surva Growth and lands $46 above Honeyb Full Spectrum, and for that difference you get named CDN integrations, conversions and citation analytics down to page, Reddit and YouTube level.

Verdict

Honeyb has the better crawler design. Surva has the clearer plan sheet. Our ranking: Surva.ai first for buyers who need certainty on price today, Honeyb first for buyers who will get the plan confirmed. For a program that must prove crawl, citation and revenue in one place, Promptwatch Professional is the pick.
