Is Ansvisor Worth It?

Ansvisor is an MIT-licensed AI visibility codebase plus $49/$249 cloud. Starter is two engines. Their Promptwatch comparison is vendor copy. Live sheet from 29 August 2026.

Ansvisor is a real competitor in this directory, not a content writer with a GEO sticker. It is an open-source AI search intelligence product (MIT, GitHub ansvisor/ansvisor, copyright 2026 Empler AI Inc.) with a managed cloud at ansvisor.com. About page co-founders: Gokhan Geyik and Cihan Geyik. The traffic feature page says they launched on 15 May 2026. We fetched pricing, about, llms.txt, the traffic page, and their Promptwatch comparison on 29 August 2026.

Worth it depends which invoice you meant. Self-host is free software. Cloud Starter at $49 is ChatGPT and Perplexity, 50 prompts, one brand. That is not Promptwatch Essential at $95, and it is not Professional at $245 with crawler logs.

What they sell

llms.txt and the README list prompt monitoring and a generator, query fan-out, citations, competitor share of voice, AI traffic analytics, shopping analytics, a site audit (47 weighted AEO/GEO signals), Agent Chat, content briefs, and MCP. README MCP note: list_brands and get_visibility_summary ship today, more tools landing. Self-host prerequisites: Node 20, Yarn, a Supabase project, at least one AI provider, Cloro for scraping. Stripe is cloud-only. IS_CLOUD=false is documented as turning features on without payment setup. BYO LLM keys is still an unchecked README item. Software free is not data collection free.

Homepage header and GitHub list Grok. The Growth price card does not. FAQ: Starter is ChatGPT and Perplexity; Growth and Enterprise add Gemini, Copilot, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, and Claude. The Growth card lists Gemini, Copilot, AI Mode, and Overviews, not Claude. Claude shows on the Enterprise column of the compare table. Screenshot the engine list after login.

GitHub listing the same day showed 102 stars. Homepage: 50+ GitHub contributors. llms.txt changelog link goes to github.com/aeohub/ansvisor/releases, not ansvisor/ansvisor. We flag the path. We do not invent a fork story.

Starter also: 100 audits/mo, 10 briefs, daily tracking, MCP/API, GSC/GA/DataForSEO, unlimited articles in Agent Chat. The card says All Features and unlimited users. Growth: 500 audits, 50 briefs, multi-region, Looker Studio, white-label reports. Compare table "monthly response analyze": a Free/demo column at 1,000, Starter 4,500, Growth 18,000. Promptwatch Professional also publishes 18,000 responses. Same number, different products. Do not merge them.

Trial copy fights itself. Homepage: 14-day free trial of Pro or Growth. There is no Pro SKU on the cards. FAQ: choose Starter or Growth. Compare table: a 7-day demo account column with 1 seat and 2-week history, while Starter is unlimited seats and all-time history. FAQ still asks about Lite versus Enterprise, a name that is not on the cards, and says a team over 4 people may need Enterprise while Starter and Growth say unlimited users. Cancel path is written: app.ansvisor.com dashboard settings, Billing, Cancel Subscription, inside 14 days.

Vendor chrome we will not audit: 50x increased AI search visibility with a quote from David Henricks, Marketing Lead at Scale; homepage 35% of site traffic (Branch × 300 enterprise leaders), 22% (Semrush), 4.3% / 96% (AI Visibility Index 2026); 1 billion humans and 2.5 billion queries a day. Logos on the homepage. Contact footer: powered by Empler AI Inc.

Their Promptwatch page is not our ranking

ansvisor.com/compare/ansvisor-vs-promptwatch, dated 15 May 2026, by the Ansvisor team. It paints Promptwatch as monitoring and reporting, Ansvisor as action and collaboration. Promptwatch still publishes Content Agents, Agent Chat, Unified Actions, Agent Analytics, and visitor conversions. A four-column marketing table reused around the site compares Ahrefs, Semrush, Profound, and Ansvisor. That is not a Promptwatch SKU sheet. Do not import "Promptwatch Starter is ChatGPT-only" or "no free trial." Explore is free (10 ChatGPT prompts). Essential has a 7-day trial at $95/mo.

Rank versus Promptwatch

Promptwatch Explore $0. Essential $95 (50 prompts, 6,000 responses, 200K visitor events, five AEO articles, citation analytics). Professional $245 (150 prompts, 18,000 responses, 1M visitor events, 25M crawler logs, 15 AEO articles). Business $579. Agency Kick-off $199, Growth $399, Scale $799. 4.7/5 G2, 1,840-plus customers, Amsterdam, April 2025. Named customers include Duolingo, Yelp, Typeform, Rabobank, Monks, WPP. No $29 plan, and no $49 Promptwatch Starter.

Ansvisor AI traffic is a tracking snippet plus crawler-behavior copy. That is not Agent Analytics from Cloudflare, CloudFront, Fastly, Vercel, and the rest of Promptwatch's published CDN list, with crawl-to-citation paths. Citation monitoring exists as a module. Reddit and YouTube citation views are Promptwatch's documented depth. Briefs and Agent Chat articles are not Content Agents to Webflow or Framer with a review inbox.

Who should pay

Yes if you want the repo, you can run Supabase and Cloro, and you accept that cloud $49 is two engines. Yes if $249 Growth is your budget for a wider engine card and you will still measure crawlers elsewhere.

No if "worth it" meant replacing Promptwatch because Ansvisor wrote that Promptwatch only monitors. Read the fact sheet, not their May comparison.

Ansvisor is worth a look as open-source visibility software. It is not worth treating $49 as a full GEO platform.
