How to Use Google Search Console Topics with Promptwatch MCP

We rank Promptwatch first for importing GSC queries into Prompt Explorer and querying those prompts from hosted MCP.

You cannot query Search Console itself through Promptwatch MCP. Import GSC queries into Prompt Explorer, then query those prompts. MCP talks to Promptwatch, not to Google's API on your behalf. A Search Console export in a spreadsheet is not a prompt program. Unimported queries stay in GSC.

We rank Promptwatch first for GSC topics on MCP because the queries become stored prompts, then the same project is readable from Claude, Cursor, or ChatGPT over hosted streamable HTTP. Other directory rows may score mentions. They do not import GSC into an MCP you can ask about in Cursor. Review: Promptwatch. Product: promptwatch.com.

Google's generative AI performance reports stay in Search Console. MCP will not query those reports for you. Import the queries first. Then ask about the stored prompts. Google's AI features documentation is the official read on Overviews themselves.

Essential ($95/mo) includes MCP and API. Explore is free (10 ChatGPT prompts) and is the wrong plan for this stack. Professional is $245/mo. Business is $579/mo. Agency Kick-off $199, Growth $399, Scale $799. 4.7/5 on G2, 1,840+ brands.

Import is the topic list

Connect Search Console under Settings → Google Search Console with org read-only OAuth. One property per project. Sync performance if you want clicks, impressions, CTR, and position (up to one year). Then import GSC queries into Prompt Explorer. That import is the topic list: Google's strings become prompts you can activate.

Activate a short list of money queries as prompts. Explore cannot carry the MCP stack. Do not skip the import and hope MCP "sees Search Console." MCP reads Promptwatch project data.

Then ask about those prompts

Add the hosted MCP URL to Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, or ChatGPT/Codex with a read-only key first. Auth is OAuth or a Bearer API key. A read-only MCP key will not let you create prompts from the chat. Read-only hides write tools. Create or activate prompts in the app, or use a key that allows writes after you trust the room.

Pick the key scope on purpose. Project key: one project. Org key: the org. Read-only key: hides write tools. Use this if the chat should not create prompts, generate content, or publish.

Read tools cover visibility, sentiment, citations, Reddit and YouTube citations, prompts, competitors, gaps, fan-outs, site health, crawler logs, and visitors. Write tools (if the key allows) cover prompts, tags, topics, personas, content generation, CMS publish, reports, and actions. The ChatGPT plugin and the Claude connector are the same MCP server, not a second dataset.

A useful first question after import: which imported prompts have citations this week, and which GSC queries still have impressions but no stored answer. That is the job this combo is for. Ask which imported prompts have citations and which still have GSC impressions only.

Otterly.AIMention tracking$29; 4 engines; no sourced GSC-to-MCP path
Peec AITracking MCP for scores$95, 3 models; we will not invent a GSC topic import

Peec ships an MCP for tracking data. We still rank Promptwatch first when the prompt list started as GSC queries and you also want citations, crawler, and visitors in the same chat.
